Hello, My Name is LoyAnn Sherwood
Hello, My name is LoyAnn Sherwood, I am the CEO & Founder of AppLuxe℠ App Marketplace. I had a wonderful career in the healthcare industry for 25 years, and I loved every minute of it, however, in 2019, working a 60 hours per week, I was heading home from work; I fell asleep at the wheel; I ran off the road, and hit a tree head-on and totaled my car, no damage to the tree.
I spent the next 30 days in the hospital, and another 30 days in rehab; I busted up my body pretty good; I broke my left leg in 3 places which required pins in my leg; I fractured my wrist, and broke multiple bones through-out my body, including a bone in my neck, almost, immediately, I applied for disability because I was no longer able to walk right, nor could I effectively type on the keyboard with my right hand; I was approved for disability, and immediately, I went from $100,000 year down to $30,000 a year.
It has been rough and tough living on $30,000 per year. I often run out of money with 5-10 days of my next disability check. Overall, I was almost killed in a car accident, but my husband took care of me, and I came back to life again. Today, I cannot get around without some sort of assistance, but I cannot complain; life has been OK. Our bills are paid, and for the most part, we often have enough food until the next check arrives.
Buying AppLuxe.com & Early Signals of Success
In 2026, I happened to run across this domain that was for sale, AppLuxe.com (Luxe for Luxury App Marketplace). I had a very strong feeling that this domain would be awesome for an app & software marketplace, and I purchased the domain almost right away without thinking about it. Appluxe.com started indexing immediately, which is very impressive for a brand-new domain.
Before AppLuxe, I have setup many domains over the last 5 years, and none of them have showed any level of success until now, at this point, I strongly feel that Appluxe.com will become a very powerful app marketplace in the future, but right now, appluxe is currently a blog, and is showing positive signs of success early on which is very awesome.
Recent Challenges: Hell or High Water
Update: I recently broke my big toe tripping over myself. How in the hell does anyone do that? at first, I did not know that I had broken my toe, and I was in a lot of pain; my husband quickly rushed me to the hospital, and it was confirmed by ER, I had in fact fractured or broken my big toe, then they put a splint on my foot, and sent me on my way without any more worries. I have future appointments with a bone doctor, and he will tell me what my next steps will be; do I need surgery? Will my foot heal on its own? I do not know yet!
I am currently on pain pills, and I am somewhat able to hobble around the house (mostly to the bathroom without issues) But I still work on the website, and direct our team members on what to do next in keeping Appluxe.com moving forward; hell or high water; I have come to far, and will not allow a broken foot to stop my app, Blog, and Marketplace from moving forward, as I have no choice! I/we need to keep moving AppLuxe forward, and that is because I really need another source of income in the future, as my disability check is considered, just over broke, along with a net-loss since I run out of money long before my next check arrives, and I/we need desperately need another income source, since my husband has a bad back and cannot work, and I ask out of love, please support AppLuxe℠ App Marketplace by making a purchase, as I/we would really appreciate your business now, and in the future.

Job Search, Financial Realities & An Act of Kindness
Footnote: after my ankle/foot heals, I will be trying to look for a $70,000 in the healthcare industry, but there is a hitch: I have already been out of work for quite some time, and finding a work-at-home job as upper management will be tough as hell, why? work at home jobs are super competitive, they are very hard to come by, even if you were a super good worker in the past and too be honest, I'm not sure that I will be hired, again, I have been out of this industry for many years; Even though I know my stuff; finding a work at home job maybe almost impossible at this point, however, I will keep my hopes up, and start applying for jobs immediately, and we will see where my job hunt will land in the future, keep moving forward, or you just may die of boredom laying up in bed all day, and I am sick and tired of my husband waiting on me day and night, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; It's just not fair!
more financial bad news everyone. my mower just called me to remind me that he will start mowing next week, and I am like oh shit, I have completely forgot about the mower since last season, and this is another $240 per month that I do not have. I did tell him that I am now on disability, and what did he say? Since you are on disability, I will now need you to pay me month-month upfront 15th to 15th, and I did ask him why, and he said that he mostly knew that I would run out of money before he mowed again in another 2-weeks and requested to be paid upfront for the entire month. The grass is not even up yet, and he already wants to start mowing a yard that will not even have any grass in the next 7 days, no compassion from him what-so-ever since he is only protecting himself by wanting his money from month to month, upfront, now, I am negative $-500 in the hole, every single month now.
my husband went to the store today, since my big toe is broken, I hobbled my way out to the car so I could go along for the ride, so my husband goes to buy a few groceries, then bad news, our debt card was declined by $3.00, and we are now out of money until the 15th of the month; Even though, we had to put a couple items back; We were still over by $3.00, and what does the clerk do? She told my husband to keep the bottle of diet coke, which was exactly $3.00. An ack of kindness by an unknown clerk that works for cash saver in texarkana, AR, our shoutout for today; What a true hero for a total stranger.

AppLuxe℠ App & Software Blog is currently just that, a blog. Why? We have to start at the bottom, and we have decided to setup a blog first, and we also need funding to start on our app & software marketplace which is expected to take 6-12 months for a complete app marketplace build, and it may take up to 6-8 months for our blog to reach its full potential so that we can start selling guest posts to fund our app marketplace platform.
